At Kinship we've always said that one of the most important, and often overlooked, parts of an enterprise social network #ESN is the power of the associated analytics. The analytics module is where insights are developed around the people, topics, engagement and potential new ways to engage and promote adoption of the ESN. Typically this has been done through an analytics "module" or tab and through descriptive analytics driven by a community manager slicing and dicing the data searching for the highlights. A distinguishing feature of the new generation of enterprise social networking software is moving the analytics into a dynamic and predictive role rather than a static descriptive analytics module.
